Large French map of Paris circa 1860 edited by Victor Clérot (fl. 1855 - 1890), he was a Paris based geographer and publisher active in the latter half of the 19th century. As with most small volume French map publishers of this period there is very little available information regarding Clérot. This map feature the fortification named Thiers fortification , it was an enclosure constructed between 1841 and 1846 proposed by the then French prime minister Adolphe Thiers but was actually implemented by his successor. Today it became what is know as the "Boulevard Périphérique " or freeway after it was eradicated in 1919. Le Palais des Tuileries which was destroyed in 1871 during the Paris Commune and razed in 1883 is still feature in the top center.
