This features No. 17 and 21 from the Tableaux D'Histoire pour le Cours Elementaire series; "L'Armee Francaise Entre en Italie" and "Colbert dans son Cabinet de Travail", scenes from France's early Renaissance period. No. 17 depicts Francis I leading the French army into Italy in 1525 to fight the Battle of Pavia, and No. 21 is a very generous rendition of Controller-General of Finances Jean-Baptiste Colbert at work in his office.

Widely used in schools because of their large format and their colorful imagery. Aided teachers in their lectures and captured the imaginations of students alike.
