Made  in France in the 1840's this chest of drawer is the first " modern " style born  of the industrialization age just being implemented , the  classic book matched veneering was easier to achieve with steam powered machine  than man powered tool , making it possible for the middle class to acquire thing  only reserved to the upper class before .The  shape of this top drawer is known as a "cavetto" after the original Italian and  gives a distinctive look to Louis Philippe furnishings .The marble top is a  Sainte Anne coming from the Pyrenees and renown for its subtle shade of grey.

 Size H.36  x W.22.50 x L.50,  good antique condition ,recently refinished , locks  not working
