This illustration puzzle  is a Chromolithography ,   a unique method for making multi-colour prints. This type of colour printing stemmed from the process of lithography . Chromolithography became the most successful of several methods of colour printing developed during the second half  of   19th century . It illustrates the  celebration of the french republique  on the 14th of July  ( bastille day ) when people celebrate and dance .
