Auvray, Marchand d'Estampes , Quai Malaquais N° 7, à Paris large engraving of the city of Paris .The plan divides the city into 12 arrondissements as opposed to the current 20. Scarce, finely engraved large-scale plan of Paris, those were very popular for the elite traveller coming to experience the city of light , Dyonnet, and Vuillemin are associated with this use of vignettes around the map.
It looks like those maps are rare since I could not find other example with this date . It depicts to depict the 12 arrondissements of Paris as defined by the law of October 11, 1795. The creation of the arrondissements in 1795 aimed to divide Paris into municipalities, thus forming the basis of the current division.
Somme of the vignettes display destroyed places like the "palais des Tuileries burned during the French commune of 1871"
39 x 29.5 inches , 1822 printed date , good condition on heavy paper , it was a folding map so the lines are visible .
