French tellurium clock 1850 brass bass , include a clock mechanism from Chaude' (Chaudé was a noted French watchmaking with the title "Horloger du roi .")
There are 4 panels with the names of maritime explorer from Bartolomeu Dias ( 1450 – 1500) to Admiral Dumont d'Urville (1790-1842) , 2 of the panels slide to revel a clock mechanism which seems to be turning the globe as clock would .
Chaude was active during the second part of the 19th century , the globe featured " republique de la Plata " ("Provincias Unidas del Rio de la Plata" before the 1853 ) which became Argentina in 1860.
The clock will need to checked by a matchmaker since it look like the clock pendulum is missing .
There are some crack and some small dent ( Pacific ocean ) but overall the piece is stable with no missing part of the map .

The wind being still the energy moving boat is represented with the putty blowing air , the orb having the astronomical zodiac signs could also be possibly moving with the mechanism indicating the month of the year H.22 , Basse 7x7 in , orb 9 .in , rewinding key present .
