 French map of Paris circa 1905 edited by “Andriveau Goujon  ” little is know about this publisher beside some date , Andriveau-Goujon Eugène Andriveau-Goujon (1832-1897) was active in Paris between 1858 and 1892 , Barrere Geographer took this company over toward the end of the 19th. He published map, atlases, folding case maps and jigsaw puzzle maps.This map feature the old fortification named Thiers fortification ,the Thiers wall (Enceinte de Thiers) was the last of the defensive walls of Paris. It was an enclosure constructed between 1841 and 1846 and was proposed by the French prime minister Adolphe Thiers but was actually implemented by his successor. Today it became what is know as the "Boulevard Périphérique " or freeway after it was eradicated in 1919/1920 .The work of "urban renovation " of the Baron Haussmann was not started ( 1853 -1870) so most of medieval neighborhoods are still in place.

Carte d'etat major ( ordnance map )  were created by the War ministry  and other ministry to create a topographical record during the 19th and early 20th  century following the " age of reason " approach to society.

Size: H.24x L.19.5 , overall good condition but not pristine with oxidation of the paper  , would make a great statement framed .  Feel free to ask question , you can  call me at the store 310 994 6009 .
