From the 19th century Sarreguemines has provided the whole world with a vast collection of earthenware, vases, decorative flower pots, wall frescos, chimneys, and so on. 
This vase is  one of the  memorabilia of the 1889 World 's fair commisioned to celebrate the creation of the Eiffel tower. the Eiffel tower was constructed from 1887 to 1889 as the centerpiece of the 1889 World's Fair .
