Undated globe published in Nuremberg by the descendants of Johann Georg Klinger. Klinger introduced globe making in Germany as he began creating terrestrial spheres in 1791. This globe is post 1852 as the cartouche identifies C. Abel Klinger as the publisher. Carl Abel joined the family firm in 1851 and his name is found on all of the company’s globes as the editor .
Italian edition , Klinger published globe for the European market during the second half of the 19th century .It is dated to be around 1855 /60 in view of the marker , no Alaska but Russie Américaine , Van Diemen instead of Tasmania , Africa mostly unexplored Argentine still named La Plata
size H.16 in x W. 9 in , good condition , with some discoloration in Europe , still varnished ( white spot are reflection ) wood base worm-eaten, treated and cleaned .
