This 5 inches French globe is a "Forest " with an address in Paris , 17 rue de Buci ,this company was a School supply company at the turn of the 19th.century which disappeared in the early XX century. The base is ebonized wood ,the globe is plastered ball with 12 colored lithographed paper gore, political boundaries , red border outline, showing railway , track , telegraph cable route , steamship navigation tracks , ocean currents and even terrestrial caravan. There some light stain and light spot of paper discoloration . Date:  Saint Petersburg  is present  in Russia , Greece still part of the Turk empire ,  Free state of Congo and many of the future African colonies have no name yet, Antarctica is not yet explored , that point to the early 1880's. Overall a very decorative globe with an historic value. The condition is good for a piece of this age .The color are fresh with the map readable

Size : D.5" globe , H.9  , it has been cleaned , some light foxing  .
