"Verdure Chantilly" French Verdure aubusson Tapestry jacquard 19th.
Vintage, dating from the late 19th century turn-of-the-century production to early 20th , the age-patina softens the color palette into muted tones instead of a bright modern copy.
This exact textile design is titled "Verdure Chantilly" , the artwork ( carton ) is adapted from an historical early 18th-century landscape tapestries originally created by the Royal Manufacture of Beauvais .
It is a genuine Jacquard loomed weave, not a serigraph fabric , you can see and feel the physical texture and variations in the stitching across the foliage and trees.
The weaving style was invented by Les Tapisseries d'Halluin using mixed-weave texture to achieve their proprietary "Point de Loiselles" ,alternating the thickness, tension, and patterns of the warp and weft on a mechanical Jacquard loom, the weavers recreate the heavy ribbing, organic relief, and structural depth of a hand-loomed 1700s original.
Size 56 x &75 in , stitched fold to slid a rod on top.
