Made  in France in the 1950 this cotton tapestry reflect the democratic desire of that time to produce affordable art . Neo fantastic and influence by  the cubist movement  Picart Ledoux tapestry use the vocabulary of natural  symbol like the sun , animal and musical instrument , mixing decorative subject  with mythological scene . Picart Le Doux was a great master of Aubusson  tapestry, which has produced over four hundred original tapestries in his  lifetime. This one is an homage to sun ,  nature and wine , edited by Centre Francais des tapis et tapisseries (le soleil et la vigne ). Those  tapestry placed on wall to bring an organic feel to a mid century interior  answered the need to add some warmth to an otherwise cold mass produced style of  furnishing so prevalent in the 1950's and 1960'.
