French map of Paris nouveau GUIDE DE L'ETRANGER circa 1843 edited by “Logerot 55 quai des Augustine ” little is know about this publisher beside his location ,Auguste Logerot ( aka Augustin Nicolas Logerot) made use of the works of the well known cartographers Fremin, Dufour, Dyonnet, and Vuillemin. He published map, atlases, folding case maps and jigsaw puzzle maps.This map feature the old fortification named Thiers fortification ,the Thiers wall (Enceinte de Thiers) was the last of the defensive walls of Paris. It was an enclosure constructed between 1841 and 1846 and was proposed by the French prime minister Adolphe Thiers but was actually implemented by his successor. Today it became what is know as the "Boulevard Périphérique " or freeway after it was eradicated in 1919/1920 .The work of "urban renovation " of the Baron Haussmann was not started ( 1853 -1870) so most of medieval neighborhoods are still in place. The map provides a clear, visual guide to the city, highlighting key structures, landmarks, and tourist attractions in an enlarged and pictorial format.

Size: H.18 x L.24 IN , overall good condition but not pristine with oxidation of the paper , would make a great statement framed .
