Large French map of Paris circa 1792 edited by Esnauts & Rapilly, Nouveau plan routier de Paris et ses fauxbourg , New street plan of of Paris and its borough .
Rapelly began publishing prints in 1770, in association with Jacques Esnault. Published the “Gallery of French fashions and costumes in the city of Paris” (1778) and the “Views of the most beautiful public and private buildings in the city of Paris”.
The Bastille is not yet destroyed , I made a digital mark of the location Rue Saint Jacques where this map was for sale . The water coloring is original of the time of production , it was first engraved and hand colored . Recent linen back , the empty border of the map have been cut for framing so the map stop at the colored framing line .
Size: H.22 x L.31 , overall good condition but not pristine with oxidation of the paper , would make a great statement framed . Feel free to ask question , you can call me at the store 310 994 6009 .
