Made in the 1940's or 1950's those were originally designed in Germany as an workshop task lamp. Christian Dell was a designer for Rondella and Blunt in the 1920's and went in the 1930's to work with Kaiser and Idell , some of his creation remained in production until the 1980. The body is metal with some oxidation which bring a nice patina .I purchase it in France and it is guaranty an original studio lamp from the 1940's , it including the signed back reflector.Stripping the old paint expose the patina of the steel and different metal , those metal are usually alloy steel superior in quality to the recycled metal used in mass produced duplicate and recent lamp. After being polished their variation of tone from the mark of use and passing of time create a warm effect and a connection to the authentic . The articulations are a trademark of Dell design , it can be dissembled and reassembled in its totality .
