French flower tarot edited by FOSSORIER, AMAR & Cie Maîtres Cartiers in Paris from drawings engraved by E.HELLE in 1902. The original is kept at the National Library of Paris. A rare and beautiful deck of antique tarot cards printed in France in 1904. They are known as the Tarot of Flowers and were originally produced by Fossorier, Amar & Cie of Paris with images based on engravings by the artist E. Helle. The company was taken over by the acclaimed card printers BP Grimaud of Paris
In France, the "fool " or joker officially appeared in card games in 1902, the Camoin houses as well as Fossorier, Amar et Cie2, card manufacturers, obtaining authorization from the Administration to add a joker( le fou ).
size 23.1/4 x 19 1/4 , good condition , fresh color , possibly original printing since newer paper tend to get yellow and brittle due to the oxidation of the wood pulp wood. Suitable for framing .
