Polychrome magic lantern made by Edouard Lapierre around 1880. At this period the company produced a very popular range of lanterns for adult and children , decorated with a characteristic transparent coloured lacquer . It includes a series of 10 hand colored slides of Polichinelle and some germain slides , Polichinelle is the trickster who abuse Pierrot , they display the green paper wraping around indicative of Lapierre production , the German production featuring orange or red paper wrap . ( wood box for the slides included ). I inserted an electrical light so it can be used safely with US bulb..
Size H.13 x W.6 x L .9 ( include lense ) in . , rewired with US stand plug , it inclued the chimney ( not in use anymore ) , it was positioned on a rond reflector of a desk petrol lamp which was used during the middle to late 19th century .
