About Michele Ray : Michèle Ray was born in 1933 in central France. She studied with René Perrot, a famous painter and cartoonist, at the École des Beaux-Arts in Bourges and then began as a designer in household linen. At the same time, she created decorative panels using natural elements (dried leaves, grasses, etc.) glued onto jute or linen backgrounds. Despite her various research projects, wool remained the most interesting material for Michèle Ray. This is why she decided to create for tapestry. In 1965, she created her first tapestry cartoons with a joyfull and naturist element .
