Find inspitation with this  French modernist design with this captivating trolley crafted in the 1950s by the legendary Mathieu Mategot. With his signature bent metal "rigitulle," the trolley exudes a whimsical effect, as if the metal has been transformed into delicate lace. It is part of the Cap d'Ail series as seen in the reference picture .Mategot was a versatile designer, dabbling in furniture and object design before returning to painting and tapestry work in 1960. He collaborated with prominent designers such as Prouvé, Perriand, Royère, Adnet, and ceramist Georges Jouve, cementing his place as one of the most renowned French designers of his time. The 2 trays are removable .

This trolley is a testament to Mategot's innovative spirit, as it features his patented perforated sheet metal "rigitulle," which he invented and used from 1953 to 1959. This unique design element was protected by a patented copyright, ensuring that there are no duplicates or imitations. 

 

Size H.27 x L.31 in x W.16.5 in, this trolley is in excellent condition, having been stripped down to the metal and sealed with varnish.
