Pair of comforter created for Freespan , an important innovative company during the 1950's to the 1960's , this pair is from the late 1950's when the form stated to be softer , France was done with the war damage so the atmosphere became more playful .The Freespan metal armature was adopted by all the French designer of the 1950's being a very practical solution, Gascoin , Adnet and Guariche to name a few used it .It is unknown if Freespan "borrowed" a design from Guariche or if Guariche designed it in order to add it to the Steiner line ( he was working in close relationship with the Steiner company.) The number FS 116 looks like the code name used by Steiner FS and a 3 digit number. In any case there a element typical of Guariche design .The upholstery is French linen recently done ready to grace your interior with a mid century French accent .
