Polychrome magic lantern made by Edouard Lapierre around 1880. At this period the company produced a very popular range of lanterns for adult and children , decorated with a characteristic transparent coloured lacquer . It includes a series of 10 hand colored slides with " La fille de Madame Angot " ( an opéra comique in three acts by Charles Lecocq famous in the 1880's ), another of the little red hood , they display the green paper wraping around indicative of Lapierre production , the German production featuring orange or red paper wrap . ( wood box for the slides included ). The last user inserted an electrical light so it can be used safely with US bulb..
Size H.15 x W.7 x L .10 ( include lense ) in . , rewired with US stand plug , it inclued the chimney ( not in use anymore ) , the petrol lamp which was used during the middle to late 19th century the mode of lighting .
