2017 Jean Camille For Style French Antiques

310 994 6009

This 10 inches globe is  made by the American  maker  Cram ( a school supplies company) . The  art   deco base is unusual  indicating this globe was destined to decorate  possibly a airline office or traveling agency.I have seen this 10 inches globe  on a shorter wood base with 3 legs,I place the production date  mid to late  1930's  pre WWII :  Leningrad  1924  , Manchuria in China is occupied by Japan ( 1931  become Manchukuo)  . Most of Antarctica is unexplored .According to George F. Cram Company  records,Cram started globe manufacturing in the US about 1932 , Cram is still making globes and  map .Very good condition with  slight touch up , overall a very decorative piece with an historical value. The  black ocean is very dramatic , the boat line are silver on the black ( trade  line  ) , including the Almena .
